Meet the Formulator - The Heart Behind SkinApt: Dr. Chi Nwegbo PharmD.

 

What started as a deeply personal mission to help my son overcome the struggles of severe acne soon grew into something much bigger—a dedication to creating skincare that goes beyond the surface. As a mother, a certified pharmacist, and a healthcare professional, I knew I had the knowledge and passion to make a difference. I wasn’t just witnessing my son’s frustration; I was driven to create something better.

I’m Dr. Chi Chi, and for over two decades, I’ve been at the forefront of healthcare. SkinApt was born out of a desire to bring real, science-backed skincare solutions to life. It's not just about skincare; it’s about empowering you to embrace your natural beauty and feel confident in your own skin.

A Journey from Immigrant to Entrepreneur

As an immigrant, the United States has given me so much—opportunity, growth, and the chance to build a future for myself and my family. My educational journey began with a Bachelor's degree in Computer Information Systems from Kennesaw State University, followed by a Doctorate in Pharmacy (PharmD) from South University School of Pharmacy  in Georgia. These degrees shaped my ability to read and analyze complex data, and they provided me with the knowledge I needed to pursue my passion for healthcare and science.

Now, as a pharmacist and entrepreneur, I wanted to give back. That's why I made the decision to create SkinApt as a Made in America brand. I believe in the power of American manufacturing and global sourcing. Creating products right here in the USA allows me to invest in local jobs—not only in the skincare and pharmaceutical industries but also in my Georgia community. While some raw materials simply can’t be sourced domestically due to global availability, my mission is to keep as much of the process as possible American-made. From compounding to formulation and packaging, I’m committed to building a business that gives back to the country that gave me the tools to thrive.
